Strength over Fear

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7

Fear has a quiet way of slipping into our thoughts — in our decisions, our relationships, and even in our confidence on the course. It tells us we’re not enough, not ready, not equipped. But Scripture reminds us that fear isn’t from God, and it isn’t our identity.

2 Timothy 1:7 declares that God has placed something entirely different within us: power, love, and a sound mind —

strength to step forward,

love to lead well,

and clarity to stay grounded when life feels uncertain.

In golf, a shaky mind leads to a shaky swing. But when you trust your foundation — your grip, your posture, your preparation — the fear fades. In the same way, when we anchor ourselves in who God is and who He’s made us to be, confidence replaces hesitation.
